About: Mayim knows and understands how difficult it can be to ask for help. Change is hard. And being vulnerable with a complete stranger can feel overwhelming. With a non-judgmental presence, she utilizes a gentle yet direct approach to therapy, helping individuals experience freedom to engage fully with themselves and in relationship with others.

Mayim is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Minnesota. She earned her Masters of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Prior to joining Minnesota Renewal, Mayim provided therapy in various outpatient settings. Additionally, she has worked as a community-based therapist, where she provided therapy and skills training to children and families in their homes.

Mayim has extensive professional training in treating trauma. She is trained in using the Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network, a neuro-developmental, competency based therapy used to help people heal from past trauma and identify aspects of themselves that may have developed as a response to traumatic experiences. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desennsitization and Reprocessing), a structured therapy to help clients process traumatic memories and some (but not limited to) issues like anxiety and depression. EMDR also helps people heal from issues that have often felt unresolved or stuck in traditional talk therapy. Additionally, she has training in Internal Family Systems, a transformative therapy that helps people heal their protective and wounded inner parts.

Mayim provides telehealth services for those throughout Minnesota. She enjoys meeting with people remotely and has found it to be an effective medium for therapy, including with people who have not found it very beneficial in the past.
