About: Joe Pribyl did graduate training to receive a master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Joe is licensed as a marriage and family therapist by the State of Minnesota. Joe has worked in private practice since 2008 mostly with adults and adolescents to address a variety of concerns. Anxiety, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and religious scrupulosity, depression, couples issues, and life-stage transitions are focus areas of Joe's practice. Joe uses scientifically validated therapy techniques, e.g. cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused, in his work with clients.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Joe worked in education and ministry settings for several years. He holds BA degrees in chemistry, religion, and an MA in Catholic Studies. Thus, Joe approaches his work as a therapist from a comprehensive perspective that accounts for the psychological, biological, relational/social/experiential, and spiritual contexts that impact our well-being.

As clients may like, Joe can include spiritual perspectives into therapy. While Joe is most familiar with Christian and especially Catholic spirituality, he is knowledgeable and respectful of other faith traditions as well.

Joe is a Minnesotan of 40+ years, but enjoys getting to places outside the state, and country, when possible. Joe also enjoys reading, exercising, sports, and spending time with wife, son, and cairn terrier (small dog, big ego).
